Own Report Tool

The own report tool allows to create own report types and and reports based on these types. The start page for own report types follows the standard in the analysis tools 2.

The own report tool is a reporting module like VDA6.3 or VDA6.7 any report type created in the own report tool has to be managed in that module of the application. It does not matter if you have created a VDA6.3 report template or VDA6.7 all non standard reports are managed in the own report tool module. A report based on report template is created by selecting the report type first. Before the first use you create your own report template in report types

Start page

On the start page for this tool you can find the section with the active report next to it is the creation of the report which is a bit different. There you can use manage own report types to go into the management of the report types. You have also to select a own report type from the drop down before you can create a report.

Report Type Management

In the report type management you will find the default reports at the top and you can copy them. All other functionalities are not available.

Once you have created a copy of that report you can edit it in the report management. You can define the name and the version of the report. You can change the prefix for question sections.

You can also change the evaluation algorithm though we do not recommend this. Additionally you can define the language you want the report to be available in. These translations have to be entered by you for each question and question section.

Bellow the header you will see the question sections and and questions (you need to open the section to access it) and will have the option to add a question section/question or edit it or even delete it. Next to each question title you will see the information if that question is available for the potential analysis. The default language used is the language of the application. Meaning that the shown section titles and questions might be empty if the translations have not been entered yet.

Question

When you enter edit question you will get the question details and the changes you can make. The available options might vary depending on the used evaluator algorithm (i.e. start question are not supported by VDA 6.7 or Field Failure, potential analysis questions are not supported by Field Failure and so on. After the general settings a tab for all the supported languages will show the language and the fields which are language specific. You can define the question, requirements and examples and have to do so for all languages you want to support. The add button for a requirement-example combination allows to separate requirements and examples into section (i.e. if you want to provide a requirement and the specific examples which belong to that requirement).

Any change you make here is directly applied and stored. If you want to revert a change “Strg+Z” works.

Question sections

For the question sections next to the title a per process information can be shown. This is the application of the process based question separation which can be found for P6 of VDA6.3 and VDA6.7. It will also be applied if the question section has question sub sections. On creation of a main question section you have the possibility to create a question or a question subsection. Once you have added one of them the other option will not be available anymore as this is not supported by the standards. Depending on the standard (i.e. Field Failure) the question subsection might not be offered at all.

The edit of question sections and subsection follows the same style as for the question at the top is general data. The question section identifier can be changed but this should be handled with care and it will be also corrected when adding further question sections. In the language specific section the title has to be set and a short title can be added which is a hyphenated prefix for the title.

Downgrading

The additional downgrading rules follow the same principle as before. In the general section you can select the downgrading options you want to have n.e. is activated by default. The downgrading text has to be defined per language. The downgrading will be shown in the evaluation matrix but has to be set in the assessment section of the report.

Based on the selected downgrading options only the selected ones will be shown and can be choose. The will also take effect on the result.

Report type storage and exchange

Each report type can be saved as json file and loaded back into the application. As the application has one loading function which automatically recognizes the files you can drag and drop the report type on any start page or the report type list. A report type is not required to load a report based on a own report type. Each report created is a self contained file so it can be opened on devices where the report type is not known.

Like all data the report type is part of the backup.

Report Execution

Once a report type is created it can be selected from the own report start page for the creation of a report.

The execution of the report follows the same principles as for the default VDA-QMC reports.
