FAQ 12: Why is my data missing / database empty

Every user has to confirm on usage of the applications that he understands that it is not an application with a cloud storage. Any cloud storage solution which does not ask you to enter login data would not comply with any current data safety measures. You should read

The provided product is a local software running in the browser and saving all data in the browser. For data privacy and security reasons no data leaves the local usage scope.

All users are made aware on start of the application that the only allowed permanent data storage solution is a saved report. All saved reports and backups are stored into downloads folder.

 

The availability of data is a comfort feature but not an acceptable long term data storage. The only save way is to save the reports. The browser data storage used for the comfort feature can be deleted outside of our application scope. i.e. clearing of the browser cache or you might want/need to use a different browser and that data will be only stored in the current browser.

  1. Are you using the same browser?

    1. If not you need to use the same browser you have used before as data is stored only in the browser. You can transfer the data to a new browser using the backup.

  2. Are you logged in in the browser?

    1. Nowadays browsers support user logins which might result in different user scopes responsible for data being stored separately. You might need to use the same user you had before.

  3. Have you cleared your browser cache? did you have an update which went wrong?

    1. This means that the data can only be restored loading a backup or saved report. How to:

  4. Your data is removed on every startup and you can not use the comfort feature

Your data never leaves your device you are responsible for saving the data safely. We will not respond on any data restore requests because we have no possibility to restore any data.
