FAQ 26: Saving files to a different location than downloads folder

You can change the default saving location of the browser so he will ask you every time something is saved to your computer where you want to save it. This option is in the browser settings in the downloads section.

The saving location is controlled by the browser settings. By default the setting is to save into the downloads folder. You can change this default behavior so the browser will ask you every time where you want to save the file. This change does not apply only for IATF CARA but for all downloads of the browser.

In every browser you can enter the settings and use the search at the top to search for “Downloads” which will also find the option “Ask where to save each file before downloading” which you can activate.

Chrome

You can find the option “Ask where to save each file before downloading” and activate it in “Settings->Advanced->Downloads” or using this address “chrome://settings/downloads”

Edge

You can find the option “Ask me what to do with each download” and activate it in “Settings->Downloads” or using this address “edge://settings/downloads”

Firefox

You can find the option “Always ask you where to save files” and activate it in “Settings->General” when you scroll down
