FAQ 15: Working on NCs by different people

IATF CARA enables users to save each NC separately for this you will find next to each NC an icon to save.

You can save an NC as single NC. If you have completed more NCs you will save all those as single NC files. Afterwards you send that/these files(s) to the person who is going to connect them. That person uses the load report function on the start page of IATF CARA to update these specific NCs.

The person who finished some NCs

After clicking on that button this NC will be saved in a file in your downloads folder. The name of the file will contain the nc report name and creation date and it will also show the NC number based on the order (i.e. 02.Dec.21-NcManagement-NC1-My-reportName.json). So you can identify this as single NC report for NC 1.

This file will be send to the person who is going to connect the NCs together before sending them to back to the auditor.

The person who connects the NCs and send them to the auditor

The received file has to be stored on your hard drive when it was send to you by mail.

Important recommendation: Before connecting the single NC with the main report you should make a backup or save the full nc report. This enables you to go back to the previous version.

Connection of single NCs is done automatically by IATF CARA by using our regular load button on the start page.

After clicking on that button you select the file which was provided to you. The application will recognize that it is just one NC and will ask you if you want to really want to replace the NC data with that in the file. When you confirm the nc report will be updated. If you have more than one NC you can repeat that process as often as you need.

IATF CARA has an inherit unique identifier for all NCs so the sorting order of NCs has no influence and the application will always replace the correct NC

Once you have completed that process you can send the nc report back to the auditor.

If you followed our recommendation at the beginning and something goes wrong you can always load your backup/full nc report and try again
