FAQ 17: Saving and Loading data in IATF NC CARA

The application is a file driven application. The entered data will remain available in the same browser on the same device once entered as long the browser history (cache) is not deleted. This process is out of our control so please save your report or make a backup as this is the only approved secure way to store data.

Loading a report

By using the load function you can load any file created in and for IATF NC CARA. This means an NC report send to you by your auditor or a NC report saved by yourself or a backup created by the application. Just select the Load report function and select a report you want to load. By default all files saved by our application will be saved in the default browser downloads folder which is “Downloads”. If you want to load a backup or any data just go into that folder and you will see all your saved files including the date they were saved.

Loading a backup

Loading a backup means that all exiting data will be replaced by the data in the backup file. Please watch the date and make a backup in advanced of your exiting data just to be save.

Making a backup

The button on the start page marked in red will create a backup. A backup contains alle reports and settings have set. It is the whole content of the browser database. This backup will be also created once you leave (not close when you close the browser).

This is controlled by the backup setting the database settings section and by default on 0.

Saving the NC report

Apart from the start page (marked in blue) you will find also a save report function at the top and bottom of the NC management section to save the NC report.

Saving a single NC

You will also find a save option to save a single NC next to the edit of each NC. This will save only this one NC depending on the rules applied by your CB and or auditor it might be possible to send back a completed single NC. This can though also be used to handle NCs internally by different people. Using the standard load function the application will automatically attach it back to the full NC report.
