On the start page you’ll find a short introduction into the tool. This introduction can be hidden using the hide/unhide button next to it. You should though read it in advance.
Offline avilable
On the right you will see the information “Tool offline available” which means that the tool was saved in the browser cache and can be used offline without an internet connection using the provided site address or you can “install” the application to have an icon on your device. It will be still executed in the browser you are using.
This function depends on the browser you are using. In Edge and Chrome you will find on the right side of the url bar of the browser. As the installed application is still executed in the browser the deletion of the browser cache/history will result in the removal of the offline capability.
You will also see the version of the tool and you will get access to the Release information.
Data storage
The tool will be executed offline on your devices. All data is saved in the browser in the user account you are using. Only in this context your data is accessible (i.e. in a different browser no data will be available). This functionality is bound to the browser cache/history. The clearance of the browser cache/history will delete the application and all related data. To permanently store data and for data safety reasons you have to save your data as file FAQ 05: Save a file/ create a backup.
License
A named user license is required to use the tool so you will be asked to enter your license number. A named user license is a license which can be used by the user on as many devices as necessary as long it is only used by himself. If your license is invalid or your license could not be rechecked within 21 days you will be blocked to access the tools functionality.
On startup or reload of the tool this check is executed automatically and the offline availability is reset to 21 days again. You can also restore a backup which will also restore a previously entered license.
Functionality on the start page per report
A report type section on the start page will contain icons for different functions as you can see in the screenshot above.
List
The report list contains all created and stored reports which are in the browser database. By opening the list you get access to these reports.
New
The new report icon will create a new report, open it and set it as active report
Active report (in active report section)
This provides you with a quick overview about the active report
Edit
All reports are always opened in the edit mode. By clicking on edit you will open the header data page of the active report
Save
Using save will store the active report as json file. A json file is a structured file which contains all the data in clear text. And can be loaded by this application or other applications if an interface was created. The report file contains also the action plan data.
Print
The print icon will create a pdf of the active report and save it in your downloads folder or open it directly
Save action plan
This function saves the action plan part of the report as separate json file. Action plans can be managed in the action plan manager tool. Which is free for use and accessible at https://actionplan.analysis-tools.de/apAppStart.
Data management
The final functionality of the start page is the data management section
In the data management section you can
Create a backup
A backup is a json file which contains all your data saved in the browser database. It will contain all your settings and all reports. The icon will always show the last date the backup was created.

The load report/backup function is also offered on the start page as drag and drop feature. So you can just drag and drop a json file and the tool will load it.
