The 8D Analysis Tools Tool has a comfort function which will allow it to save all your data within the browser storage. This data is only available in that browser. This storage is closely linked to the browser history function. Clearing the browser history will result in clearing also the locally saved reports in the browser. Please use the backup our automatic backup functionality to secure all your data on proper Storages in your company. Though the application is provided from a web server we do not provide any cloud storage for any data.

A backup will always replace all existing data in the browser data base. Make sure that you are using the proper backup or have created a new backup if you are replacing data |
Activating automatic backups
You can change the setting for the automatic backup in “Settings”->”Backup & Database” to a shorter period than 14 days. This function will check on leaving the Analysis Tools the date of last backup and will warn you that data was not save yet and create a backup if you stay on the page.
No backups will be created if the application is not started or you leave the page and cancel the warning.

If you open the updated Analysis Tools and used the old VDA6.3 Tools your data will be directly available. If you don’t have any data this was caused by clearing of the browser cache, a change of the browser or device not by the Analysis Tools update which will automatically load old data. If you have used the old offline version and now moved to the online version you need also to create the backup. |
Missing Data
The data storage in your browser is out of our control you of your IT can reset the browser history, so make regular backups.
If you have opened your browser and it’s empty please check if you are using the same browser on the same device!
If you have used the old offline version please make sure that you did not rename any folders in the path or have moved the application. Restoring the path will result in access to your data.
In all other cases only the backup or report exports can restore your data.
